You've been in Croatia for a while, but you still blush every time the waiter asks for your order or when a sales clerk asks if you need a bag?

Croatian courses for foreigners at TinkTank will help you gain a deeper understanding of the underlying mechanisms of the Croatian language. You will learn the most important grammatical structures and frequent vocabulary, but also learn a lot about popular local culture and dialect.

Creating a solid base is the most important part of language learning. Upon completing our e Croatian course you will be able to keep a conversation in Croatian and gain a much deeper understanding of the linguistic context you are immersed in every day. With our situation-specific lessons, you will learn a wide range of vocabulary which you can then use in everyday life.

Our regular Croatian courses follow a standard language learning trajectory. You will follow a textbook and start building your Croatian knowledge as you learn all the important grammatical structures, acquire new vocabulary, practice speaking, listening, and writing in Croatian. Our regular Croatian courses usually require some self-studying as you will often have assignments and homework that require you to apply what you have learned in class. At the end of each semester, there will be an oral and a written exam.

Our conversational Croatian courses serve as a complement to the regular lessons. They are intended for those learners who have already overcome the very basics of Croatian grammar, but wish to practice more. The focus of these lessons is shifted away from grammar (it is present only passively). Instead, here we encourage active conversing, practice everyday vocabulary, small talk, and texting; we recreate everyday situations foreign learners find themselves in, learn the most common idioms and idioms, practice pronunciation, and much more.

You can join our Croatian language courses in the 1st semester (October), or the 2nd semester (February). If you are uncertain about your level of Croatian, do let us know and we will make a brief placement test to help determine your language level.
